Peter R. White, Jr.
Peter R. White, Jr., 49, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Williamsport.
Born September 10, 1966 in Erie, he was a son of Peter R. Sr. and Bonnie (Martin) White of Williamsport.
Peter was a 1984 graduate of Williamsport High School, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class. He helped lead the Millionaires to the PA State Basketball Championship and was awarded PA Academic All American and PA Basketball First Team All State. He received a BA in Economics from Yale in 1988. While at Yale he was an Academic All American and set the all-time Ivy League assist record which he held for 15 years. He earned a J.D. from Georgetown Law School in 1990.
Peter was co-owner and assistant director of the Keystone State Basketball Camp. He loved coaching his sons’ sports teams and the Williamsport Millionaires. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He often said “Born a Steeler and became a Millionaire”
Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife Ana Gonzalez-White, four sons Salvatore, Giancarlo, Santino, and Giovanni, two sisters Natalie White (Rhonda Robb) of Seattle, WA and Dina Henry (Jeremiah) of Lancaster, a brother Tony White (Theresa) of Williamsport, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 West Fourth St. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St. Williamsport.
